About Electranet
ElectraNet operates and manages South Australia 's electricity transmission network. The company's ultimate goal is to transport high voltage power in a secure and reliable manner at all times. ElectraNet does not generate or retail electricity.
ElectraNet transports power at mainly 275,000 Volts and 132,000 Volts between electricity generators and receiving end-users across the State; one of our major customers is the State's electricity distribution network which provides lower voltage power to business and residential consumers. ElectraNet also operates and manages the important transmission network links from South Australia to the National Electricity Market via two regulated interconnectors, one of which is owned by ElectraNet.
ElectraNet's electricity transmission system comprises a network of more than 5,500 circuit kilometres of high voltage transmission lines and 76 major substations, and is complemented by state-of-the-art monitoring, controlling and switching operations. |
