The Electrical Engineering Program at RMIT University , Melbourneis offered within the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The program is fully accredited by Engineers Australia, and provides a broad range of electrical engineering skills to meet the expectation of current and future employers. Graduates are employed in power generation, industrial and power electronics, automation systems, resources, water and energy industries. The first two years of the program share the same curriculum with Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer systems Engineering, Network Engineering and Bio-medical Engineering Programs in the School. The last two years of the program aim at specialization in electrical power engineering and industrial automation engineering. The subjects for specialization include Power Engineering 1, Power Engineering 2, Power Electronics and Electromagnetic Compatibility, Power System Analysis and Control, Electrical Energy Systems, Efficient Energy Systems, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics and Control, Advanced Control Systems, Real-time Estimation and Control, Micro-controller Based Electrical Systems, and Variable Speed Drives. The Electrical Engineering Program has sufficient flexibility to allow the student to combine Electrical Power Engineering with one of other specializations such as Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Communication Engineering, and Network Engineering. Students in the Electrical Engineering Program can also undertake a double degree with either Business or Commerce.
